Always on top for Mac

Keep any window
on top.

Pin notes, a tutorial, a video, or a reference.
Stay with the work instead of hunting windows.

Made for Mac · macOS 14 or later

Still in front.

A mockup, not a recording of the app.

macOS has no always-on-top for ordinary windows.

Keep a window in front.
Work in the others.

Look something up while you write.
Follow a tutorial with both hands on the work.
The window you need stays where you can see it.

How crop works

Opacity

See through it

Fade a pinned window so it does not hide the work. It turns solid when you point at it.

It follows you

Pinned windows can sit on every Space, including above full-screen apps.

A few questions

Does macOS have always on top?

Not for ordinary windows. Stickies can float on top. Safari picture in picture is for video. Pages, a browser, a terminal, or a call need an app like Toplet. See always on top for Mac.

Is this the same Toplet as other search results?

No. The Toplet at toplet.app is a Mac window-pinning app, not an industrial agent or a rental company. If you searched for always on top for Mac or picture in picture for any window, this is it.

How is this different from system picture in picture?

System PiP is for some video players. Toplet can shrink any window, and crop a video out of a web page. See picture in picture for any window.

Which Macs can run Toplet?

macOS 14 or later. The installer will be here when the app ships.

Why Screen Recording and Accessibility?

Screen Recording captures the window so Toplet can keep a live picture on top. Accessibility finds and activates the original window when you want to use it. Frames stay on this Mac. See privacy.

Can I still use a pinned window?

Yes. The pin is a live view. Hover briefly or click, and you can scroll, click, and type in the original window. It depends a bit on the app.

Can I download or buy it now?

Not yet. The installer and checkout are still in progress. They’ll show up here. Until then, try the pin mockup on this page, or watch the demo.
